Recently, the USGA has announced that 10 players have managed to reserve for the 2020 US Open due to their good performance in European Tour UK Swing. A bit different with the previous event, this exemption is indeed a sensible approach to make the 2020 US Open more fair.

10 Players Who Have Earned the Exemptions to 2020 US Open

UK Swing is indeed a crucial event under the umbrella of USGA. As the flagship event, its influence is huge. Not to mention that there was cancellation of local and sectional qualifying rounds due to the covid-19 pandemic. The officials would need to apply the safety protocols to make everybody safe. Therefore, the exemptions through the European Tour’s UK Swing will be a sensible replacement of the local and sectional qualifying event.

There are top 10 aggregate point earners players from the five events. Here are the names of the 10 players who deserve the fantastic spots: Sam Horsfield, Thomas Detry, Andy Sullivan, Rasmus Hojgaard, Renato Paratore, Romain Langasque, Sami Valimaki, Adrian Otaegui, Connor Syme and Justin Harding.

I am sure for some people, Romain Langasque is not strange for them because he won the Wales Open on Sunday. The top earning in the UK Swing would just make him deserve more.

Meanwhile, Horsfield won twice in August, when taking over the Hero Open and getting back the winning again after fortnight at the Celtic Classic. Then there is Detry who finished as the runner-up to Horsfield at the both events. Well, it is a fantastic occasion, isn’t it? Both Detry and Horsfield will make their fourth appearance in the US Open as the tight competitors.

A former member of European Ryder Cup team, Sullivan will make the first US open since the Oakmont event in 2016. It will be the first performance in four years. Obviously, he has lighted the flame inside his boss to compete with the other amazing golfers. Harding was on the spot when taking 36 holes at the 2019 Masters. It will be his second consecutive appearance in the US Open event 2020.

The other US Open exemptions will be taken from top five point earners from three events of KORN Ferry Tour Series.

The upcoming US Open will be the 120th edition. It will begin in September 2020 at Winged Foot Golf Club West Course in Mamaroneck, NY.
